On Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 how can i use Python 2.7 as default not Python 2.6? I did but still showing 2.6

On Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 how can i use Python 2.7 as default not Python 2.6? I did but still showing 2.6

RHEL 6.2 i have python 2.6 but i need default python 2.7 using yum packaging (so that nothing goes messed up, cause its a heavy duty working system, all i need the python 2.7 on it, without messing up).
I did following but still i see python version as 2.6, any pointer to this please?
